Electrical Engineer (High Voltage)
We are seeking a proficient and hands-on specialist in Medium and High Voltage (MV/HV) Cables (66kV+).
You will be responsible for defining the technical requirements essential for terminating and testing power cables, establishing manufacturing rules, processes, and procedures to ensure safe handling and testing.
- Develop and implement processes to enhance and sustain efficiency in cable handling, end preparation, and testing.
- Create, validate, and endorse project manufacturing specifications for handling and testing HV power cables.
- Act as the custodian and architect of technical governance, adhering to internal and international standards, concerning HV power cable handling and testing regulations and policies.
- Establish standard operating procedures.
- Specify safe termination and testing requirements.
- Support risk assessments for all testing activities onsite.
- Assist in the proposal process to ensure technical compliance of bids and identification and mitigation of risks where feasible.
- Attend pertinent design and risk reviews throughout the product lifecycle.
- Liaise closely with Production and Application teams to ensure continuous improvement.
This role requires a proactive individual with demonstrated experience in cable handling, end preparation, and testing, particularly within the MV/HV Cables domain. Strong familiarity with industry standards and regulations, coupled with effective communication and collaboration skills, are essential.
