Energy Storage Engineer
Location: Austin or Tampa
Attendance: Hybrid - 2 days
Travel: ~20%

This is an amazing opportunity with a leading engineering company in the renewable sector. They are looking to hire a Senior, Energy storage engineer to work on their projects which range 5-25MW. This role does require some travel, as it is dependent on projects that you work on.
Responsibilities:
- Develop preliminary energy system use cases through evaluation of customer bills, utility tariffs, and energy markets
- Support interconnection applications with technical knowledge
- Evaluate and select energy storage equipment
- Provide construction support and commissioning assistance
- Ensure design deliverables meet engineering standards and codes
- Coordinate external engineering resources and manage related processes
- Develop system control specifications for compliance with energy use case models
- Create detailed permit and construction drawing packages
- Review proposals and provide technical input, including project descriptions, risk assessments, and financial analyses
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related)
- PE Registration as a Professional Engineer (preferred)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Matlab, and SKM/ETap
- Knowledge of energy storage systems and products
- Experience with utility tariffs and energy market evaluation
- Ability to develop energy storage use case models, incorporating equipment efficiencies, degradation, and thermal management
- Capable of integrating models into financial assessments considering utility and energy market factors
- Skilled in planning and managing permit and contract document development for energy storage systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Customer relationship management skills
