Company: Confidential Civil Construction Contractor

Location: Remote, working on an East Coast time schedule (8am ET start), with reasonable travel to site locations as required

Salary: Up to $140,000 per annum

About the Company: Our client is a leading civil construction contractor based in New England, specializing in preparatory site works for the installation of Solar PV & BESS assets. Their services include excavation, land clearing, road and site office installation, storm water provision, environmental regulation compliance, tree stump clearance, and de-vegetation.

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in civil construction, particularly in excavation and the installation of energy assets. The ideal candidate will be proficient in estimating costs for land clearing and related preparatory works, and will possess a deep understanding of the equipment and apparatus needed for such jobs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for excavation, land clearing, and site preparation projects.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope and requirements.
  • Identify and evaluate potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
  • Utilize industry-specific software and tools to create and maintain cost databases.
  • Review and analyze historical data to improve accuracy of future estimates.
  • Present estimates to management and clients in a clear and articulate manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for civil construction projects, with a focus on excavation and land clearing.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, adhering to an East Coast time schedule.
  • Willingness to travel to site locations as required.
