
Permitting Specialist
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support project development activities in relation to the technical details of evacuation infrastructure and grid connection
- Provide technical-economical assessment of evacuation infrastructures
- Provide technical support in the negotiation of common infrastructure for projects under development
- Obtain land surface rights to design, permit, construct, operate, and maintain wind/solar power projects
- Identify prospective projects with suitable wind/solar resource, electric transmission access, and site characteristics
- Establish and manage relationships with stakeholders, including regulators, utilities, TSOs and community leaders, to support project development
- Manage the environmental study and permitting process
- Manage project level expenditures and invoice processing
- Promote, analyse and coordinate potential co-development agreements
- Work with internal resources, such as the Legal, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Finance, Investment Analysis and Energy Assessment teams
- Provide reports to management by producing regular and frequent pipeline updates, project status updates, and other reporting documents
- Communicate information continuously and effectively to cross-functional team
- Additional duties as required
ACADEMIC SKILLS:
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years or more of progressively responsible project management experience in the energy industry
- Deep knowledge of the Spanish markets and a strong/solid network in the sector and licensing authorities
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software; some knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software and PVsyst software preferred
- Experience with renewables projects
- Experience in local and national policy development a plus
- Technical knowledge of permitting processes and regulatory requirements relating to development, construction, and operations of energy projects
