Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and GIS Deliverables:
- Produce and deliver planning and GIS (Geographic Information System) related elements for various projects.
- Delegate tasks to junior team members, monitor their progress, review their work, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Project Development:
- Support in developing corridors, alignments, and routes for projects from the initial needs phase through to the NSIP (Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects) or S.37 submission stage.
- Planning and Environmental Advice:
- Provide pre-and post-application planning, environmental, and engineering input or advice on significant infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland, whenever possible.
- Understanding of Planning Legislation:
- Develop a thorough understanding of planning regimes and legislation, such as the Development Consent Order (DCO), Developments of National Significance (DNS), S.32, and Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA).
- Additional Planning Schemes:
- Work on non-transmission related planning schemes and assist with activities related to other departments within the company.
- Educational Background:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject such as Geography, Planning, Environmental Sciences, or a similar field is essential.
- A Master's degree in these fields is desirable.
- Professional Membership:
- Being a member of, or working towards membership in, a relevant professional institution is desirable but not essential.
- Work Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience in the infrastructure or development sector, specifically working on transmission, distribution, or other planning schemes.
- A minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience using GIS software.
- Experience working on electricity projects, including NSIPs, S.37, or TCPA projects, is desirable.
