Senior Land Agent – Solar & Storage Development

Location: Remote - USA

I am working exclusively with a leading renewable energy development company that is scaling up its project pipeline in the ERCOT region. As part of their ambitious growth strategy, they are seeking a highly experienced Senior Land Agent to join their team and play a key role in driving their renewable energy projects forward.

The successful candidate will have the chance to lead on critical land acquisition efforts and stakeholder engagement initiatives for utility-scale solar, wind, and storage projects.

The Role

As Senior Land Agent, you will be responsible for securing land resources and managing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the successful development of renewable energy projects. This is a senior-level position requiring deep expertise in land acquisition, feasibility studies, lease negotiations, and community relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Land Siting & Acquisition: Identify and evaluate suitable sites for renewable energy projects, negotiating lease agreements with landowners to secure project rights.

  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct detailed site assessments to evaluate environmental, technical, and regulatory factors affecting project viability.

  • Community & Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with landowners, local communities, and other stakeholders to foster trust and gain support for projects.

  • Negotiations: Lead complex lease negotiations while ensuring alignment with company goals and compliance with all legal requirements.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including project developers, permitting specialists, and interconnection experts, to support project success.

What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in land acquisition or management within the renewable energy sector or related industries (e.g., utilities, oil & gas).

  • A proven track record of successfully negotiating large-scale land leases for utility-scale projects.

  • Strong understanding of the ERCOT market and its regulatory environment.

  • Expertise in conducting feasibility studies and managing stakeholder relationships for complex projects.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
