Role Overview

As a Senior Project Developer, you'll lead multiple wind and/or solar projects from early to late stages. Your expertise will span the entire development process, from inception to Notice to Proceed (NTP).Key responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing site acquisition
  • Managing permitting processes
  • Supporting offtake arrangements
  • Handling interconnection and queue procedures
You'll collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, focusing on permitting support, post-NTP development tasks, and EPC support. This role is part of a highly collaborative development team, reporting to the Senior VP of Development and Directors of Wind/Solar Development.

Core Responsibilities

  • Site Acquisition and Due Diligence: Secure project sites, assist with legal matters, and guide projects through the diligence process.
  • Permitting and Mitigation: Oversee environmental studies, manage permitting timelines, represent the company at public hearings, and implement mitigation plans.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks across various project aspects in collaboration with the development team.
  • Project Management: Solve complex issues related to site, permits, and technology.
  • Project Finance: Ensure projects meet or exceed financial targets.


  • 3-5 years of renewable energy project development experience
  • Track record of leading power generation or transmission projects from greenfield to COD
  • Understanding of transmission interconnection and energy market dynamics
  • Experience with various permitting environments (federal, state, local)
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating various agreement types (leases, studies, interconnection, PPAs, etc.)
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
