Sr Project Developer, West Coast
The Samuel Knight team are excited to partner with one of the USA's leading Solar development businesses as they begin their search for a Sr Development Manager to join them in the quest for market domination.
We're looking for someone who has experience developing utility-scale greenfield Solar projects in the CAISO and Northwestern regions with a strong emphasis on the permitting process. This role requires a deep understanding of renewable energy project development, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
We are looking for those situated in or willing to relocate to Phoenix, Arizona or Denver, Colorado.

Key Responsibilities
Project Origination and Development:
- Identify and secure suitable sites for solar PV development through research, networking, and site feasibility studies.
- Negotiate agreements with landowners and other stakeholders to secure project sites.
- Lead the preparation and submission of land use permitting applications, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage the permitting process, including environmental due diligence, community engagement, and interfacing with governmental agencies.
- Attend and present project information at public hearings, community meetings, and other relevant forums.
- Oversee all aspects of project development, including site origination, permitting, due diligence, and interconnection activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Track and report on project progress, budgets, and timelines to senior management and stakeholders.
- Foster positive relationships with local communities, governmental agencies, investors, and other project stakeholders.
- Communicate project updates and address concerns from stakeholders effectively.
- Compile and analyze financial data related to project development.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management and investors.
