O&M Manager
The Solar O&M Manager / Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing the daily operation, maintenance, and performance of utility-scale and commercial solar assets while remaining actively involved in fieldwork. This role leads a team s, ensures safe and efficient site operations, and drives system reliability, uptime, and performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management

Lead, supervise, and mentor a team

Plan and assign daily, weekly, and preventive maintenance work schedules

Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses

Ensure compliance with company policies, OEM requirements, and regulatory standards

Support hiring, onboarding, and training of technicians
-
Evaluate technician performance and provide coaching and feedback

Serve as the primary site-level point of contact for operations management
Operations & Maintenance

Perform and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on PV systems, inverters, trackers, substations, and balance-of-system equipment

Lead troubleshooting efforts for electrical, mechanical, and SCADA-related issues

Support major repairs, retrofits, and component replacements

Review system performance data and identify underperforming assets

Coordinate outage management, switching, and restoration activities

Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities and work orders

Manage spare parts, tools, and inventory
Safety, Compliance & Quality

Enforce site safety programs, lockout/tagout, and energized work procedures

Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety standards

Conduct safety audits and incident investigations
