Secondary Permitting Specialist
We are a fast-growing Independent Power Producer (IPP) based in Rome, backed by a leading global investor and specializing in utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects across Italy. As we move into the execution phase of several large-scale developments, we are looking for a dynamic Secondary Permitting Specialist to play a pivotal role in both the final permitting stages of our solar projects.
This is a hybrid role, ideal for someone with experience in both secondary who thrives in fast-paced, high-impact environments and is ready to follow a project from Ready-to-Build (RTB) through to commercial operation.

Secondary Permitting (RTB to Construction Start):
- Lead and manage the secondary permitting process to ensure projects are fully compliant and construction-ready.
- Liaise with development, legal, and technical teams to secure and maintain all required construction-phase permits and approvals (e.g. environmental, grid connection, site access).
- Interface with local authorities, regional bodies, and regulatory agencies to fast-track pending permits and resolve open issues.
- Prepare, review, and submit documentation related to secondary permits, EIAs, land agreements, and construction authorizations.
- Track permit timelines and proactively mitigate risks to avoid delays to construction start.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in utility-scale solar or large infrastructure projects, ideally with a blend of permitting and construction coordination
- Strong understanding of the Italian permitting landscape and construction regulations, especially related to renewable energy
- Experience managing interactions with Italian authorities, grid operators, and environmental agencies
- Fluency in Italian and English, both written and spoken
- Excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of project management tools/software is a plus
- Familiarity with EHS standards and construction compliance reporting
- Experience managing EPC contractors or owner’s engineering services
- Knowledge of Italian subcontractors and local construction practices
