How to Minimise Candidate Ghosting

You've found the perfect candidate for a role, had your introductory phone call & all is going well... then, you never hear from them again...

Our top tips to prevent 'Ghosting' 👇

1) ‘Rules of engagement’:

Always lay down the ‘rules of engagement’ from the first call with the candidate.

2) Explain the how the rules of engagement benefit the candidate:

“If you keep me in the loop with any changes to your situation, I will be able to maintain a positive impression of you to the client and advise accordingly"

3) Use ‘the power of we':

“If we communicate effectively together throughout this process, this will help us to achieve the best possible outcome”

4) Interview attendance commitment (before you have secured an interview):

“I am going to do my best to secure you an interview with X client. Before I do so, I need to know you are definitely interested and able to commit to attending on X day at X time?”

Unfortunately some things are out of your control, and unexpected situations do arise, however keeping that line of open clear communication throughout utilising the steps above will certainly minimise the risk of being 'ghosted'.
