Senior Project Manager - Solar Farm Development (Lithuania)

Contract Duration: 9-12 months (Potential to evolve into a full-time role)
Location: Flexible (Hybrid/ Remote Bristol, UK with travel to Lithuania)

Our client is a leading player in the renewable energy sector, dedicated to driving the transition towards sustainable energy solutions. As part of our expanding team, we are seeking a Senior Project Manager to spearhead the development of large-scale solar farms in Lithuania. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the renewable energy landscape and make a meaningful impact on the fight against climate change.

Role Overview:
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing the pre-construction phase of large solar farms in Lithuania, with the potential to oversee projects through construction. This role requires expertise in utility Solar PV development, particularly in managing EPC and ICP contracts/contractors. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with both the in-country Lithuanian development team and the UK development team, ensuring project milestones are met and risks are mitigated effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tender packages for design and construction work contractors, running and evaluating tenders
  • Own and maintain a detailed project plan with full interdependencies to bring projects to Ready-to-Build (RtB) status
  • Identify risks to project timelines and budgets and suggest solutions to mitigate such risks
  • Engage with third-party EPC contractors, AC and DC contractors, and suppliers to secure quotations/proposals
  • Research and understand the development/permitting process for large-scale solar projects in Lithuania
  • Present regular project updates, budget, risks, and solutions to the senior management team
  • Support project sales processes or project transfer to third-party investors/financiers

Skills & Experience:
  • Demonstrable utility Solar PV experience
  • Experience with HV grid connections (e.g., 380kV/400kV) and solar plant design
  • Knowledge of solar supply chain, including panels, inverters, mounting structures, and cabling
  • Solid experience with EPC and ICP contracts/contractors
  • Technical engineering background (e.g., power electronics, electrical engineering)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
