ITALY - HSE SITE ENGINEER HG – Solar PROJECT
A utility-scale world class EPC, is seeking experienced HSE Site Engineer to join its construction team. The HSE Site Engineer will work closely with the Project Engineers, Project Managers and HSE Corporate Manager to manage the on-site operations during the construction period ensuring on schedule completion and compliance with HSE Regulations, as well as externally with the construction subcontractors, site visitors, the local authorities, residents, and the landowners.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
A utility-scale world class EPC, is seeking experienced HSE Site Engineer to join its construction team. The HSE Site Engineer will work closely with the Project Engineers, Project Managers and HSE Corporate Manager to manage the on-site operations during the construction period ensuring on schedule completion and compliance with HSE Regulations, as well as externally with the construction subcontractors, site visitors, the local authorities, residents, and the landowners.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knowledge of Italian HSE Legislation: Ensure that all HSE requirements and regulations defined by Law are fulfilled.
- Monitor, evaluate, and analyze the effectiveness of HSE Plans and propose improvement actions.
- Supervise activities and check documentation on site of contractor e/o subcontractor
- Review, analyze and prepare, if requested, Safety Plans for the construction site.
- Review when required, project drawings and POS to identify any foreseeable health and safety (H&S) problems for construction
- Ensure the required HSE information is displayed in the site office and site is fully compliant with all HSE documentation
- Prepare the site’s H&S files in accordance with PSC, POS, and legal requirements. Ensure all files are always up to date.
- Establish key information required for the emergency plans, power networks, environmental agency, gas network, water, BT, hospital, police, fire and HSE. Prepare the site’s emergency plan.
- Prepare the site’s HSE induction including all identified hazards.
- Ensure adequate welfare facilities always exist on site. Report defects and liaise with suppliers.
- Prepare the site’s traffic management plan
- Ensure that all H&S signage are in place as the site develops.
- HSE lead in ensuring "safe systems of work" and "safe conditions" are in place around the whole site at all times. Advise on dangerous practices and always provide solutions of best practice.
- Ensure adequate serviced fire equipment exists on site and site is fully compliant with Fire law Regulations.
- Control of subcontractors H&S through briefings and discussions
- Manage all site security and banksman, traffic management control
- Act as site’s first aider and ensure that first aid equipment is suitable and sufficient.
- Coordinate any emergency procedures required on site, ensure that all relevant parties are informed of any accidents/incidents. Liaise with emergency responders.
- Conduct accident/incident investigation post incident and produce detailed report showing key findings, root cause and conclusions/recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Preferable Degree in Engineering
- HSE construction experience (minimum 3-5 years of experience).
- Experience in energy projects is considered an advantage
- Desirable certifications in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH Certifications, IOSH Certifications, Italian HSE Certifications…etc)
- Desirable not essential OHSAS18001/ISO45001, ISO14001 auditor
- Languages: Italian, English.
