SKI Sleep IN

On the 9th March 2023, Samuel Knight International held a sponsored SLEEP IN to raise money in support of the CEO Sleepout.

Samuel Knight International’s senior management team - Lisa Whitwell, Carl Moffett, Steve Rawlingson and John White - united with local business leaders for the CEO sleep out to fight homelessness, sleeping outdoors at St. James’ Park for one night alongside their peers, giving up the comfort of a warm bed to raise funds for charities on the frontline of homelessness. 

To support this endeavour, the Samuel Knight team devised their own sponsored sleep in, a 24-hour fundraising event that took place at their headquarters in Newcastle. Throughout the duration of this event, every participant from Samuel Knight engaged in rotating shifts of cycling on our exercise bikes situated in the centre of the office. To keep spirits high, they ordered some delicious takeaway pizzas!

Notably, Chief Financial Officer, Carl Moffett, undertook an individual cycling challenge, committing himself to a non-stop 24-hour session on the bike, only taking short breaks for necessary restroom visits. Remarkably, he triumphed over this challenge, completing a full 24-hour cycle.

Among the participants, Liam Douglas, the Marketing CRM Executive, achieved an amazing feat by cycling for an impressive 11 consecutive hours, setting a new record for the longest cycling duration during the event.

The occasion provided an excellent opportunity for the Samuel Knight team to come together and support a cause of great significance and commendation. Through the generosity of donations, sponsorships, and the inclusion of gift aid, the events successfully raised an impressive total of £2,407.50.
