The Role
As Head of Battery Energy Storage, you will be the driving force behind energy storage deployment across multiple European markets. You will develop the business model, project roadmap, and commercial strategy for battery storage, working across engineering, finance, procurement, and regulatory teams to ensure projects are viable, profitable, and scalable.
This is not just an operational role—it requires a visionary leader who can turn concepts into execution, aligning technical feasibility with commercial success. You will need to anticipate market shifts, adapt to regulatory changes, and shape the company’s long-term approach to storage.

The Role
As Head of Battery Energy Storage, you will be the driving force behind energy storage deployment across multiple European markets. You will develop the business model, project roadmap, and commercial strategy for battery storage, working across engineering, finance, procurement, and regulatory teams to ensure projects are viable, profitable, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement a bold energy storage strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader renewable energy portfolio.
- Develop a business model for battery storage, considering market conditions, revenue opportunities, and financial risks.
- Lead project development from feasibility to execution, ensuring that storage projects are technically sound and commercially viable.
- Collaborate with local teams across multiple markets to adapt strategies to regulatory frameworks and business needs.
- Identify and secure partnerships with battery manufacturers, grid operators, and trading entities.
- Work closely with engineering teams to define technical specifications, vendor selection, and grid integration strategies.
- Oversee financial modeling for storage projects, including IRR analysis, cash flow forecasting, and investment planning.
- Ensure compliance with national and EU regulations, securing permits and approvals where needed.
- Develop a team to execute storage projects, ensuring the right mix of expertise across technical, commercial, and financial functions.
- 10+ years of experience in renewable energy, battery storage, or energy markets, with a proven track record in developing and delivering large-scale energy storage projects.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in project structuring, financial modeling, and revenue optimization.
- Deep understanding of grid services, trading mechanisms, and market regulations affecting battery storage.
- Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams across finance, engineering, development, and operations.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, able to engage with investors, regulators, and suppliers.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to navigate uncertainty and shape future market opportunities.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
- Preferred location: Poland, Germany, or other European countries where the company operates.
- Onboarding: Initial period at the company’s headquarters to establish the role.
- Salary: Competitive and negotiable, depending on experience.
- Flexibility: The company is open to building a local team around the selected candidate.
