As the Lead Site Technician, your primary responsibility will be overseeing on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and equipment replacement at our operational solar-energy generation site. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of solar field equipment while adhering to governmental regulations and policies.
Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence: Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of all solar field equipment and associated components, including inverters, tracker systems, transformers, PV panels, substations, switchgears, access roads, fences, and security systems.
- Team Leadership: Supervise a team of technicians to perform preventative and corrective maintenance, driving teamwork and efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process and procedure improvements and communicate these through the appropriate channels, using Management of Change Protocols.
- Technical Expertise: Use schematic diagrams to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues with inverters, tracker control systems, PV panels, and related components.
- Repairs and Maintenance: Perform mechanical and electrical component repairs and parts replacement to rectify malfunctions, following manufacturer requirements.
- Data Analysis: Gather information on solar performance and issues, diagnose problems, recommend solutions for intermediate routine issues, and seek assistance for more complex challenges.
- Safety: Prioritize safety by serving as a role model, identifying safety gaps and risks, and implementing risk mitigation strategies, while adhering to environmental health and safety programs.
- Quality Assurance: Promote integrity, initiative, and a strong commitment to safety and work quality continuously. Perform preventive maintenance as per OEM maintenance manuals.
- Reporting: Collect data and prepare reports to meet reporting requirements, working closely with the Remote-Operations Control Center when needed.
- Quality Control: Conduct QA/QC inspections according to applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ensure reliable electronic communication between different site locations.
- Documentation: Thoroughly document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures (SAP) and adhere to effective internal controls.
- Contractor Supervision: Supervise on-site contractors to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other duties as required to support the effective functioning of the solar-energy generation site.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in solar field equipment maintenance and operations.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in computer-based reporting systems.
- Willingness to adapt and learn in a dynamic work environment.
