An esteemed technical engineering consultancy based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a part of a distinguished group headquartered in Europe with over 25 years of global expertise in providing specialized energy consulting services is seeking a talented individual to join their team.

Our clients 'focus is on supporting renewable energy and grid development, encompassing offshore/onshore wind, solar, hydro, and energy storage solutions to combat carbon emissions.

The role

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and passionate Power Systems Engineer III or Senior Engineer with experience in US utilities and/or renewable energy project development.

The role involves conducting feasibility studies, system impact assessments, and facility studies to support generator grid interconnection, project engineering, and strategic and regulatory guidance for clients, including utilities, developers, and system operators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting studies and project engineering for renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and storage.
  • Assisting renewable energy developers through the interconnection process, from site feasibility to post-connection compliance.
  • Collaborating with regional transmission organizations, state regulatory agencies, and utilities on behalf of clients.
  • Performing electrical power system analysis and modeling using industry-standard simulation tools.
  • Providing technical solutions to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Participating in business development activities and client engagement.
  • Managing and mentoring junior engineering teams.
  • Ensuring project management and cost accountability.

Requirements

Basic requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 4 years of engineering experience (Engineer III) or 6 years (Senior Engineer).
  • Relevant energy sector experience, including power system analysis and project engineering.
  • Proficiency in power system simulation software and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or professional licensure.
  • Membership in professional organizations.
  • Project management or consulting experience.
  • Proficiency in Python and converter controls modeling.
  • Experience in power system stability analysis.

Location

Charlotte, NC, with potential for relocation or hybrid/remote work as the company expands.

Salary

Competitive and commensurate with experience.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Less than 10%.
