Project Accountant

Senior Project Accountant

The Senior Project Accountant will be an integral part of the accounting team, responsible for managing project-related financial activities and ensuring accurate, timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and process project-related contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and agreements, ensuring all necessary clauses and details are included.
• Accurately review and process general job cost invoices and subcontractor billings.
• Coordinate with legal and compliance teams as needed.
• Maintain organized physical and digital financial records.
• Reconcile monthly inventories and perform material cost analysis.
• Ensure all project-related expenses (equipment, materials, supplies, etc.) are properly accounted for.
• Handle project closeout functions, including reconciliations, final reporting, and financial status updates.
• Oversee time and effort reporting, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Review unit entry and reconciliations prepared by support staff.
• Ensure accurate and timely payments to subcontractors and major suppliers.
• Generate statements and reports using multiple financial data sources.
• Support month-end closing activities and assist with special accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in construction accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lead and motivate accounting staff.
