
Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical)
About the Role:
A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Project Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing team. This role will focus on projects in the data centre, industrial/high-tech, and commercial sectors across the EMEA region. The successful candidate will lead mechanical building services design from concept to client handover, manage multiple concurrent projects, and play a key role in mentoring junior engineers while ensuring consistent delivery quality.
This is a hybrid role based in Ireland, with attendance at the Dublin office aligned to project and team needs.
What You’ll Bring:

A minimum of 10 years' mechanical design experience within building services

A relevant engineering qualification (Chartered status is a plus)

Demonstrated experience delivering data centre or complex high-tech building projects

Strong client-facing and communication skills

Proven ability to manage mechanical design deliverables across full project lifecycles

Strong multitasking and prioritisation abilities in fast-paced environments

Solid understanding of HVAC systems, building controls, and preferably plumbing/drainage systems

Experience mentoring junior/intermediate engineers

Excellent technical reporting skills with the ability to simplify complex engineering challenges
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the mechanical design process across multiple projects, ensuring technical accuracy and timely delivery

Manage and support team members to ensure productivity, quality, and development

Maintain strong client relationships and tailor engineering solutions to specific project needs

Monitor and control project scope to ensure alignment with contract terms

Coordinate internal resources to optimise project execution

Report project progress and challenges to senior management

Promote a collaborative and positive culture across the team and wider business

Ensure all project outputs align with internal quality assurance standards
