Job Specification: Senior Tendering Engineer – Estimator

  • Head of Major Projects, EHV & Renewables
  • Tendering Manager

Direct Reports: None

Job Dimensions:

  • 40 hrs./week, with flexible or extended hours when required
  • Salary negotiable depending on experience (Up to £65k + Company car/Allowance)

Job Purpose: As a Senior Tendering Engineer – Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the tendering, costing, and oversight of all documents related to new projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in BESS/PV/Renewable technology, and essential ICP experience at 66/132kV, particularly in Renewable/Major projects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Tendering and Costing:

    • Tender, cost, and oversee all documents for new projects.
    • Ensure adherence to standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Manage multiple and/or major projects from a tendering perspective, ensuring safety, competence, and effectiveness to meet timelines and budgets.
  2. Sector Experience:

    • Desirable experience in BESS/PV/Renewable technology.
    • Essential ICP experience at >66kV, with a proven track record in Renewable/Major projects.
  3. Project Management:

    • Review final profit/loss positions on completed projects.
    • Ensure projects comply with current legislation (HASAWA, NRSWA, C.O.S.H.H., etc.).
    • Exercise total control over costing schemes and quotations as required.
    • Identify and communicate commercial opportunities to Directors/Senior Managers.
  4. Program Development:

    • Produce front-end programs (MSP) for tenders using Project Management tools (Desirable).
    • Utilize AutoCad knowledge for project requirements (Desirable).
  5. Performance Review:

    • Conduct final reviews of delivered projects, assessing financial and delivery performance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in ICP at >66kV and Renewable/Major projects.
  • BESS/PV/Renewable technology experience.
  • Familiarity with AutoCad and Project Management tools (Desirable).
  • Strong understanding of legislation related to project execution (HASAWA, NRSWA, C.O.S.H.H., etc.).

Base and Travel:

  • Based in Wakefield with the possibility of flexible working or extended hours.
  • National travel may be required for meetings.
