O&M Engineer

Electrical Technician – HV/LV (m/f/d)
 UK-wide Travel | O&M + Installation |  Permanent

We are supporting a growing energy services business specialising in HV/LV operations and maintenance across renewables, grid infrastructure, and energy storage. As their portfolio expands, they are looking to hire Technicians to join their national field team delivering critical works across solar, onshore/offshore wind, battery storage and anaerobic digestion (AD) sites.

This role is field-based and involves regular travel across the UK, including overnight stays when required.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Inspection, testing and maintenance of LV/HV substation equipment

• HV and LV cable jointing, including specialist terminations

• Fault-finding and troubleshooting

• Installation of switchgear and transformers

• Earthing system testing and electrical safety checks

• Interpreting and working from electrical drawings

• Working on live project sites under supervision of Project Engineers

• Ensuring all work is carried out in line with H&S, environmental and quality standards

• Supporting commissioning of onshore wind turbine sites and other renewables

Essential Requirements

• Emergency First Aid & Manual Handling certifications

• Willingness to travel across the UK with overnight stays as needed

• Full, clean UK driving licence

• Ability to pass and complete GWO training and offshore medical

• Comfortable working in site-based teams and following work packs

• Basic IT competency for reporting and documentation

Desirable Experience

• Current HV Authorisation (11kV/33kV DNO or private network)

• CSCS / ECS card

• City & Guilds Inspection and Testing

• Electrical qualifications (ONC / BTEC or equivalent)

• LV/HV jointing or fitting experience

• MEWP or PASMA certification

• Industrial installation experience
