Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee health and safety operations for Hyperscale Data Center construction projects throughout Texas. The Safety Manager will lead implementation and enforcement of comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Google safety standards, and project-specific requirements across all phases of construction.
This role requires a strong background in mission-critical or large-scale industrial construction environments, with proven experience managing complex safety programs, subcontractor compliance, incident prevention, and high-risk construction activities in fast-paced project settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development, implementation, and enforcement of site-specific health and safety programs and procedures.
- Promote and maintain a proactive safety culture across all project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Conduct routine site audits, inspections, and hazard assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Google standards, and project safety requirements.
- Manage incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), lift plans, permits, and high-risk work activities.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, client representatives, and regulatory agencies regarding safety performance and compliance matters.
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure adherence to project-specific safety expectations.
- Develop and deliver safety orientations, training programs, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety communications.
- Track and report project safety metrics, observations, near misses, and leading/lagging indicators.
- Lead emergency response planning, drills, and incident preparedness initiatives.
- Support owner audits, compliance reviews, and safety walkthroughs.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, reports, and compliance logs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce incidents, improve compliance, and enhance field safety performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of construction safety management experience in mission-critical, industrial, or large commercial construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and risk management practices.
- Experience managing safety programs for large-scale construction projects with multiple subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of high-risk construction activities including electrical work, crane operations, confined space entry, fall protection, LOTO, excavation, and energized systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
- Ability to conduct incident investigations and implement corrective action plans effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and safety management/reporting software platforms.
- Ability to work in fast-paced construction environments with shifting priorities.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Texas as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 certification required; CHST, CSP, ASP, or similar certifications strongly preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Previous experience supporting Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, or other hyperscale data center projects.
- Familiarity with mission-critical construction safety standards and commissioning environments.
- Experience with digital safety platforms such as Procore, HammerTech, BIM 360, or related systems.

Work Environment
- Primarily based on active construction sites requiring extensive field presence and PPE compliance.
