
Grid Manager
Grid Manager – Germany (Remote)
We are supporting a renewable energy developer with an exciting opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated Grid Manager to join their team in Germany.
This is a key role within the German Development Team, offering the chance to take ownership of grid connection processes for a growing pipeline of battery storage (and future solar) projects. The role is remote-based, with a preference for candidates located near Berlin or Stuttgart, though applicants from across Germany are encouraged to apply.
What you’ll be doing
As Grid Manager, you will:

Lead the development of grid connection solutions for a pipeline of renewable energy projects.

Originate new grid leads for battery storage and solar projects.
-
Apply for grid connection capacity with TSOs and DSOs.
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with grid operators, negotiating and engaging on technical solutions.
-
Coordinate with equipment suppliers (e.g., transformer manufacturers) and EPC contractors.
-
Oversee site surveys and project design work.
-
Support project sales processes as required.
-
Monitor and influence regulations and policies impacting the German grid and renewable energy market.

Collaborate with international colleagues across multiple time zones.
What we’re looking for
-
Degree in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
-
Fluency in German (essential) and strong English (spoken and written).
-
Proven track record of working with TSOs/DSOs or on the development side of renewable projects.
-
Experience applying for and managing grid connections through to RtB and COD.
-
Strong knowledge of German grid codes and technical requirements.
-
Ability to analyse substations, propose connection solutions, and create concepts (including single line diagrams).

Experience managing grid studies and external consultants.
-
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in remote teams.
-
Existing network of planning consultants and grid operators in Germany.
-
Willingness to travel within Germany to meet stakeholders, and occasionally internationally.

Right to live and work in Germany, plus a valid driver’s license and home office setup.
Desirable (not essential)

Experience managing permitting procedures for substations and grid connections.

CAD drawing skills.
-
Knowledge of power system modelling and simulations.
