Grid Manager – Germany (Remote)

We are supporting a renewable energy developer with an exciting opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated Grid Manager to join their team in Germany.

This is a key role within the German Development Team, offering the chance to take ownership of grid connection processes for a growing pipeline of battery storage (and future solar) projects. The role is remote-based, with a preference for candidates located near Berlin or Stuttgart, though applicants from across Germany are encouraged to apply.

What you’ll be doing

As Grid Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development of grid connection solutions for a pipeline of renewable energy projects.

  • Originate new grid leads for battery storage and solar projects.

  • Apply for grid connection capacity with TSOs and DSOs.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with grid operators, negotiating and engaging on technical solutions.

  • Coordinate with equipment suppliers (e.g., transformer manufacturers) and EPC contractors.

  • Oversee site surveys and project design work.

  • Support project sales processes as required.

  • Monitor and influence regulations and policies impacting the German grid and renewable energy market.

  • Collaborate with international colleagues across multiple time zones.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Fluency in German (essential) and strong English (spoken and written).

  • Proven track record of working with TSOs/DSOs or on the development side of renewable projects.

  • Experience applying for and managing grid connections through to RtB and COD.

  • Strong knowledge of German grid codes and technical requirements.

  • Ability to analyse substations, propose connection solutions, and create concepts (including single line diagrams).

  • Experience managing grid studies and external consultants.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in remote teams.

  • Existing network of planning consultants and grid operators in Germany.

  • Willingness to travel within Germany to meet stakeholders, and occasionally internationally.

  • Right to live and work in Germany, plus a valid driver’s license and home office setup.

Desirable (not essential)

  • Experience managing permitting procedures for substations and grid connections.

  • CAD drawing skills.

  • Knowledge of power system modelling and simulations.

Why apply?

This opportunity offers:

  • Full remote flexibility within Germany.

  • Career growth potential as the German market expands.

  • Involvement in cutting-edge battery storage and renewable energy projects.

  • The chance to be part of a collaborative, international team.
