Traveling Electrical Project Manager

Position Summary

The Traveling Electrical Project Manager leads large mission-critical electrical construction projects from planning through commissioning and closeout. The role owns project cost, schedule, procurement, documentation, client coordination, and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and execution strategies.

• Coordinate design, procurement, prefabrication, installation, and commissioning.

• Track long-lead electrical equipment and material requirements.

• Maintain financial forecasts, billing plans, and cost-to-complete projections.

• Manage RFIs, submittals, contracts, purchasing, and change documentation.

• Coordinate project activities with field leadership and other construction trades.

• Support energization, startup, testing, and phased turnover.

• Lead project meetings and communicate risks to senior leadership.

• Manage and develop project engineers and support staff.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of electrical construction project management experience.

• Experience with large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects.

• Data center construction experience preferred.

• Strong understanding of electrical power distribution and construction methods.

• Experience with budgets, contracts, scheduling, procurement, and change control.

• Construction Management or Electrical Engineering degree preferred.

• Ability to accept extended project travel assignments.

6. Traveling Electrical Superintendent - Data Centers

Primary Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Position Summary

The Traveling Electrical Superintendent directs field execution for major data center electrical construction projects. This position leads field teams and coordinates safety, production, labor, equipment, materials, installation quality, and turnover activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate project schedules into weekly and daily field plans.

• Direct foremen, electricians, apprentices, and supporting crews.

• Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, access, and construction logistics.

• Monitor production and adjust crew deployment when needed.

• Lead jobsite safety planning and field observations.

• Coordinate major electrical equipment installation and energization.

• Review work for compliance with construction documents and applicable codes.

• Maintain daily reports, quantity tracking, and field records.

• Coordinate inspections, testing, punch lists, and turnover documentation.

• Develop foremen and future field leaders.

Qualifications

• Significant electrical construction field experience.

• Prior leadership experience as a Superintendent or General Foreman.

• Data center or mission-critical project experience preferred.

• Strong knowledge of electrical installation and power distribution.

• Ability to read drawings, one-lines, specifications, and schedules.

• Knowledge of labor planning, material control, and field reporting.

• Journeyman-level trade credentials preferred.

• Ability to accept extended travel assignments.
