The Opportunity

Samuel Knight is partnering with a national GC who is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager with QA/QC oversight responsibilities to support the successful delivery of large-scale Hyperscale Data Center construction projects across the United States.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading construction organization delivering some of the most technically complex and fast-paced mission-critical facilities in the industry.

The successful candidate will take ownership of key project delivery activities while providing strategic oversight of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) processes, ensuring that construction works are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, compliance, and operational readiness.

Working closely with project leadership, construction teams, trade partners, engineering disciplines, and client representatives, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that quality requirements are embedded throughout the entire project lifecycle, from preconstruction and procurement through installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

• Support the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale hyperscale data center construction projects.

• Manage project deliverables, schedules, milestones, and stakeholder expectations to ensure successful project outcomes.

• Coordinate with construction managers, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives to maintain alignment across project workstreams.

• Identify and proactively manage project risks, constraints, and potential impacts on cost, schedule, and quality.

• Lead project coordination meetings, progress reviews, and quality performance discussions.

• Ensure project activities are aligned with contractual obligations, client specifications, approved drawings, and applicable industry standards.

QA/QC Leadership & Oversight

• Provide management-level oversight of project-wide QA/QC activities, ensuring consistent implementation of established quality management systems.

• Work alongside dedicated QA/QC managers, inspectors, and trade partners to drive compliance with project-specific quality requirements.

• Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and associated quality procedures.

• Ensure that inspection, testing, and verification activities are appropriately planned, documented, and executed across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) scopes.

• Monitor quality performance through inspections, audits, reporting, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Oversee the management and timely closeout of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, deficiencies, and quality-related issues.

• Promote a proactive quality culture focused on right-first-time delivery, continuous improvement, and prevention of rework.

• Ensure that quality documentation, inspection records, material approvals, and turnover packages are maintained to the required standards.

Mission-Critical Systems & Commissioning Interface

• Provide quality oversight of critical infrastructure installations, including electrical distribution systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, cooling systems, mechanical plant, and associated supporting infrastructure.

• Coordinate with commissioning teams to ensure construction quality requirements are achieved ahead of system energization, functional testing, and integrated systems testing.

• Support construction readiness reviews, system completion activities, and structured handover processes.

• Ensure that installation verification, pre-functional testing, and commissioning prerequisites are completed in accordance with project requirements.

• Work collaboratively with project teams to identify and resolve issues that could affect system reliability, operational performance, or client acceptance.

Stakeholder & Trade Partner Management

• Build strong working relationships with client quality representatives, consultants, design teams, and subcontractor management.

• Hold trade partners accountable for contractual quality requirements and agreed delivery standards.

• Support subcontractor performance reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and corrective action plans.

• Provide clear reporting to senior project leadership on quality performance, emerging risks, and critical issues.

• Act as a key point of coordination between project management, field operations, QA/QC teams, and commissioning stakeholders.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

• Proven experience in Project Management within large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction.

• Strong understanding of construction QA/QC processes, quality management systems, inspection procedures, and project documentation.

• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and technical disciplines on complex construction projects.

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and structural construction activities, with an understanding of the interfaces between critical building systems.

• Experience managing project schedules, deliverables, risks, and stakeholder relationships.

• Ability to interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, inspection requirements, and project quality documentation.

• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-value construction environments.

Highly Desirable:

• Previous experience delivering hyperscale data centers or other mission-critical facilities.

• Experience working with major general contractors, hyperscale operators, or specialist mission-critical contractors.

• Familiarity with commissioning processes, system turnover, and integrated systems testing.

• Experience with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar construction management platforms.

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 principles and applicable construction quality standards.

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.

• Relevant certifications such as PMP, CCM, or quality management qualifications.
